The Rugged Shark® brand began life as a single boat shoe designed to bring marine footwear into the 21st Century. While technology was changing the face of all manner of consumer products, marine footwear was stagnant. The shoes available to boaters and fishermen were thin-soled moccasin-styles that were hard on the wearer’s feet and only modestly effective on wet surfaces.
Along the way Rugged Shark went from being a shoe to becoming an outdoor footwear brand. Fishermen and boaters who tried our Atlantic™ shoe styles and Marlin™ shoes literally fell in love with the performance and the comfort. Finally boat shoes that made their feet feel good—all day long!
